ABOUT

I'm Jacob. One person, every session.

I've spent nine years studying human behaviour and psychology on my own, across fields that rarely talk to each other. I'm not a licensed therapist, and I'd rather say that up front. What I offer is honest attention to what's going on with you, and something useful to do about it.

WHY I DO THIS

I came to this as someone looking for help.

I survived a war. I know from the inside what it does to a body that can't switch off, and how long that stays after the danger has gone.

Before I sat on this side of the conversation, I sat on the other. I paid therapists who weren't right for me, and only found out after I'd paid. Some stuck to one method whatever I brought. Some wanted months before we touched what mattered.

So I went looking myself. Nine years of reading, testing ideas against real life, and asking why people do what they do, me included.

This is what I wish I'd found back then: one person, a plain conversation, and something to take away. It's also why there's a free first call, if you want one. You shouldn't have to pay to find out someone isn't right for you.

WHAT I DRAW ON

Many fields, not one school.

Most approaches look at you through one lens. I learned across many fields and kept what holds up, so we can work from whichever ground fits what you bring.

The parts you push away

The sides of yourself you'd rather not see, and the inner voices that pull in different directions.

e.g. Carl Jung, shadow work, inner parts work, and more

The body and the nervous system

Why your body reacts before you've decided anything, and what helps it settle.

e.g. Peter Levine, polyvagal theory, body-based work, and more

Childhood, family and shame

What you learned early about love, safety and your own worth, and how it still runs.

e.g. Alice Miller, inner child work, complex trauma, and more

How we attach

Why you pull close, push away, or both, and what that's protecting.

e.g. attachment theory, and more

Meaning, fear and being human

The big questions under the small ones: death, freedom, and what your life is for.

e.g. Irvin Yalom, existential psychology, and more

Stillness and attention

Old ways of staying with what's hard instead of running from it.

e.g. Thich Nhat Hanh, Taoism, meditation, and more

The brain and behaviour

Why clever people make the same choices again and again.

e.g. Robert Sapolsky, Daniel Kahneman, neuroscience, and more

How people influence each other

Reading people, and how manipulation works, so you can see it when it's done to you.

e.g. Paul Ekman, Robert Greene, body language, persuasion, and more

I know the mainstream methods too. I just don't believe any one of them fits everyone.

HOW I WORK

What you can count on.

I WILL

  • Tell you what I see, plainly and kindly.
  • Follow where you want to go, not a script.
  • Give you something to do once we're done.
  • Tell you if I'm not the right person for what you need.

I WON'T

  • Diagnose you or hand you a label.
  • Make you wait until you're "ready".
  • Sell you a package of sessions.
  • Keep you coming back for my sake.

WHY NO SOCIAL MEDIA

You won't find me on Instagram. On purpose.

This isn't a commercial project, and I don't want it to turn into one. If you can reach me here, there's nothing a feed would add.

Social media asks you to earn trust by posting, again and again, until the posting becomes the job. It turns into its own trap. I'd rather spend that time with the people I'm actually working with.

So instead of a feed, there's an optional free 20-minute call. You judge me on a real conversation, not on what I post.

PLAINLY

What I am, and what I'm not.

Not licensed

I'm not a licensed therapist, psychologist or doctor. I don't diagnose, and this isn't clinical treatment.

Just me

Every session is with me. No assistant, no front desk, no handing you over to someone else.

English or Arabic

Whichever you think and feel in. You can switch between them whenever you like.

No photo

You keep your privacy here, and I keep a little of mine. The free call is there if you want to get to know me first.

Talk first, or go straight in.

The 20-minute call is free and optional. No payment details, and no pressure to book anything after.
